SPARK provides education services to the community, complementing statutory mainstream provision for children and adults. It aims to build social cohesion through practical self esteem-building educational activities for educationally disadvantaged children and adults, by meeting their individual educational needs. This parallels the one-to-one government tuition initiative luanched in 2009, which has been widely successful in supporting challenging young people who have fllen behind in literacy and numeracy.
SPARK Education provides varying levels of support programmes, to suit the individual student and their needs. We provide one-to-one tuition, either at the SPARK Centre, or at the students’ home. SPARK tutors may also travel to student’s schools for one-to-one tuition. We are flexible and able to provide the service which best suits the child, their parents and school. Children new to the UK education system need a gradual introduction to the national curriculum. We have experience and award winning resources for this vital transition support.
Students at the SPARK centre also have access to our computer learning programmes which follow the national curriculum and help students prepare for KS1 through to A LEVEL. We find them to be an excellent complementary tool to the one-to-one tuition. SPARK has a bank of local experienced and qualified tutors, providing one-to-one tuition to over 150 Students in the Reading area.
We have been in contact with the one-to-one tuition co-coordinator at Reading Borough Council who has informed us that the Reading schools are charged with finding tutors for those students that qualify for this additional support. As mentioned above, SPARK has a lot of experience in this field; we have a well equipped and local education centre and a bank of qualified tutors who have:
SPARK Education is committed to providing quality academic support to our community and would like to support local schools with this government initiative. Please contact us if you are interested in working with SPARK on this initiative.
